The Weekly Round-Up No. 4

ISSUE No. 4

Hello there, its that time of the week again! Hope all is good, here is the weekly round-up for you, but be sure to read up on my previous Weekly Round-Up here if you haven't already :)

As I typed the title out for this post it will mean that I've posted on here consistently for an entire month! - (excluding video posts of course) And I'm very proud that I've managed to stick to it as I don't think that's ever really happened with my blog before. Similarly on YouTube I've really committed lately and I'm rather happy with myself.  Hope you all are enjoying/appreciating the extra time I've been putting in :)

THE VIDEOS
This week I have two vlogs from #vlogtober for you. Sorry about no main channel video - there should be one up for Wednesday. Make sure to check them out, like, comment and subscribe :)

LIFE
'I'm tired.' (originally spelt tierd due to fatigue) I called my mum on Saturday October 10th and she said that's what I always say when she asks how I am so I think it's fair to say that's an accurate summary of this week. It's been absolutely exhausting, I'm absolutely shattered.

The Wednesday of this week and the early hours of Thursday morning were pivotal in displaying the endurance my body can last without sleep. You see, there was a deadline due on Thursday morning and it felt like I pushed myself to my limits to meet it - and I did. Albeit a little incorrect - I'm new at this, I can make mistakes! But I lasted the whole of Thursday with only about two and half hours of sleep. Do I recommend it? No. Though I managed to produce 70% of the work due all within the last 24 hours. Note to self: make sure you know what's due for a crit more than a day in advance of one. Anyway enough academic talk - I've made friends! They may be from my course but they're all good fun nonetheless. I hung out with a couple of friends last weekend which was my #vlogtober part three (watch here) and on Thursday night after and evening lecture by Will Alsop we all hangout in a beer garden pub. It was great I spent most of it crying of laughter and had a jolly good time. Not to mention Will Alsop ended up sitting on the table next to us. I went up to him and told him how great the lecture was and how amusing he came across. Should have asked for a selfie though!

So all in all it's been a great week.

FASHION
Now time for a category I never really touch but I'm dabbling in it today. Fashion. And what I'm about to write about probable isn't fashionable at all but hey-ho I've never been quite the fashionista. I am hoping to make my wardrobe more sophisticated but I feel like there are somethings I'll never grow out of. Browsing the sale section at M&S with my architecture colleagues who had never been to Marks, so I was adamant to show her the good foodOriental Floral Wide Leg Trousers from Marks and Spencer's INDIGO COLLECTION M&S. I think it's fair to say that I've now developed a thing for patterned trousers. Expect to see more. I'm now considering getting one for everyday of the week! In addition to my funky trousers I'm loving having brightly coloured socks on show. I usually prefer socks to appear invisible but lately I love the pop of colour and childlike quality they can give to an outfit in a subtle yet grown up way. I only have three pairs that can do this unfortunately and they come in sherbet orange, bright pink and cobalt blue. They're from ASOS but I got them some time ago in the sale. And lastly I'm in love with my brand spanking new Vans Old skool in the classic black colour to replace my very worn and well loved Vans Sk8-Hi Slim black suede hi-top trainers.

You can find snippets of the trousers, socks and Vans in my vlogtober part four. Next time I'll have some properly thought out pictures from a shoot for you - promise!

MUSIC
I know it seems like I do music each week but it's quite an integral part of my life I feel like I might as well go in the life section! But here's a short ad sweet list of who I've been loving this week. Jordan Rakei, Newton Faulkner, a cheeky little bit of Justin Bieber, Saint Raymond and Gregory Alan Isakov - particularly his 'This Empty Northern Hemisphere' album (Which Ella Grace Denton tweeted about - thanks Ella!)

Thanks so much for reading.

Much love,

Margaret xXx
